Why? All proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Brazos Valley chapter. (www.bbbsa.org)
How it works: Teams entered will be split up into brackets and will play a double elimination tournament within their bracket. Winners of the brackets will advance to the tournament finals for each league. Prizes will be awarded to First and Second place finishers for both the Men’s and Women's tournaments. There will also be raffle drawings at the tournament with all proceeds benefiting BBBSA.
Rules: Games will be up to six innings long. No new inning may be started after 50 minutes. Teams will field up to ten players. Teams will pitch to themselves, and hitters will be given three pitches to put the ball in play or will be called out after the third pitch. Pitches must be at least 6' in the air. Only softball bats will be allowed in games. All other rules will be further explained the day of the tournament. Disputes and rule interpretations will be resolved by the umpires and supervisors.
How to sign up: Applications may be submitted by e-mail or delivered in person to any of our tables on TAMU campus prior to the event. For a schedule of when and where we will be accepting applications on campus, please refer to our website. Applications filled out online may be e-mailed to Michael Roykta rokytam@neo.tamu.edu. Payments will only be accepted as cash or personal checks made out to “Iron Spikes” and must be delivered by
Regestier by TBA. Teams who have not paid will not be allowed to play. If you miss a chance to sign up or make your payment on campus, please contact any member of TAMU Iron Spikes and we will make personal arrangements to retrieve the application or payment from you.
